On the 5th of June they launched Butter-Fingers with a range of 4 flavoured butters to include Gourmet Garlic & Flat Leaf Parsley, Hot Chilli & Zesty Lime, Sun Dried Tomato with Bursts of Basil and the exclusive Fresh Wild Perigord Rolled Truffle Butter. Already established in major London stores Fortnum & Mason and Harvey Nichols, this launch represents a significant breakthrough for the Shildon based firm.
Butter-Fingers proprietor Kairen Dods is quietly confident that the presence of Ocado outside of her native North East will boost awareness of how this product is not only great to cook with – but it’s simply a deliciously tasty spread. “People who have discovered Butter-Fingers are using it just like butter – they cook with it, melt it to add flavour to their food – but simplest of all they are using it as a delicious spread, it’s so easy to create a chicken, chilli and lime sandwich for example”“There’s been a lot of discussion with Ocado over the last six months – we were invited down to their HQ in Hatfield to present our product and after being assessed by a number of departments we received the news that it had all been positive feedback. Kairen Thrilled with Fenwick's Launch
Fenwick's Food Hall ..... at Last ! It's great to be part of our local well established Department Store. They have great plans for the future of the Food Hall so it really is an exciting time to have launched Butter-Fingers on 5th February and to have been there on Saturday 13th February, just in time for Valentine's Day as we passionately believe "Food is the Language of Love".
The ultimate and most exclusively romantic food is of course the rare wild Perigord Truffle - the "Black Diamond". In order to create an extraordinary Butter we have put together the best quality fresh & wild Perigord Truffle - Tuber Melanosporum - with our creamy blend of butter and a limited number will be available over the coming weeks.

"Kairen Dods’ business Butter- Fingers, which makes a range of flavoured butters, has taken the culinary world by storm in its first year of trading, securing deals with a number of farm shops and North Yorkshire fine food retailer Lewis and Cooper. The company, based in Shildon, has struck deals with exclusive London stores Fortnum and Mason – food retailer to the Queen – and Harvey Nichols. The product, which Ms Dods first devised while hosting a dinner party for friends at her home in Heighington, near Darlington, has also been hailed as “very useful idea” by esteemed food critic Charles Campion."
